Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (12-count) package Hawaiian sweet rolls (about 15 ounces)
- 1 pound sliced deli turkey breast, or 1 pound shredded leftover roast turkey
- 8 slices Swiss cheese (about 6 ounces), divided
- 1 cup whole-berry cranberry sauce
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 350F (175C). Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving a little overhang on the long sides for easy lifting.
- Without separating the individual rolls, slice the whole slab in half horizontally with a long serrated knife. Set the top half aside and place the bottom half, cut side up, in the prepared dish.
- Lay 4 slices of Swiss cheese over the bottom buns, slightly overlapping. This melted cheese layer acts as a barrier so the cranberry sauce never soaks into the bread.
- Arrange the turkey in an even layer over the cheese, then spoon the cranberry sauce over the turkey and spread it gently to the edges.
- Top with the remaining 4 slices of cheese, then set the top slab of rolls in place and press down lightly.
- Whisk the melted butter with the Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and salt until smooth. Brush generously over the tops and sides of the rolls, then sprinkle with poppy seeds.
- Cover loosely with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Uncover and bake 4 to 5 minutes more, until the tops are deep golden brown and the cheese is fully melted. Rest 3 minutes, slice along the roll lines, and serve warm.
