A comforting and crispy chicken fried sirloin served with homemade gravy, perfect for weeknight dinners.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin steak
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free alternative)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 cups homemade gravy
  • Mashed potatoes (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Tenderize the sirloin steak and cut it into serving portions.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well-combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix the flour with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dip each piece of sirloin in the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and back into the flour mixture, ensuring it is evenly coated.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat until hot.
  6. Fry the breaded steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Remove from the pan and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  8. Serve hot, smothered in creamy homemade gravy, alongside fluffy mashed potatoes.

Notes

Ensure oil is hot before frying for perfect texture. Do not overcrowd the pan.
