- 200g dark chocolate, chopped
- 100g heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- Zest of 1 orange
- 2 tablespoons orange extract or juice (optional)
- Cocoa powder or chopped nuts (for rolling)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer.
- Remove from heat and add the chopped dark chocolate and butter. Stir until smooth.
- Add the orange zest and orange extract or juice, mixing well.
- Refrigerate the mixture for about 120 minutes or until firm.
- Once set, scoop out small amounts and roll them into balls.
- Roll the truffles in cocoa powder or chopped nuts.
- Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve or gift.
Notes
Use prechopped chocolate or quality chips to skip chopping time. Store truffles in an airtight container for up to one week.
