A quick and easy pastry featuring a flaky puff pastry filled with creamy vanilla-infused cream cheese and fresh strawberries.

Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into squares or rectangles.
  3. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square and top with sliced strawberries.
  5. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to create a Danish shape.
  6. Beat the egg and brush it over the top of each pastry.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar and serve.

Notes

For best results, slice strawberries thinly to prevent excess juice. Danishes can be refrigerated before baking for convenience.
