- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Spread the chopped pecans on a baking sheet and toast for 8-10 minutes until fragrant.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the caramel mixture over the toasted pecans and spread evenly.
- Bake for an additional 10 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Let the chocolate melt, then spread it evenly over the pecan mixture.
- Allow to cool, then break into pieces and package for gifts.
Notes
Consider using pre-chopped pecans to save time. Lining the baking pan with parchment can help with clean-up, and adding sea salt on top enhances flavors.
