- 1 loaf of brioche or challah bread, cut into cubes
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups eggnog
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- Butter for greasing
- Powdered sugar for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
- Place the bread cubes in the dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, eggnog, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar.
- Pour the eggnog mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the cover and bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden and fluffy.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
For extra crispiness, sprinkle a little extra brown sugar on top before baking.
