A heartwarming comfort food featuring savory minced beef and fresh vegetables, topped with creamy mashed potatoes.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g minced beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup grated cheese (optional)
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add onions, carrots, and celery; sauté until softened.
  4. Add the minced beef and garlic; cook until browned.
  5. Stir in the tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish. Spread the mashed potatoes over the top, smoothing it out.
  7. If desired, sprinkle grated cheese on top of the mashed potatoes.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a healthier option, consider using ground turkey or chicken instead of beef, and sweet potatoes instead of regular mashed potatoes.
