- 1 medium butternut squash, peeled and diced
- 2 apples, cored and diced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced butternut squash and apples.
- Add brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, maple syrup, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Mix well to coat the squash and apples.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and dot with butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the squash is tender and everything is caramelized and fragrant.
- Serve warm as a delicious side dish.
Notes
Choose apples that hold shape, like Honeycrisp or Gala. Use prepeeled squash or frozen cubed butternut for quick preparation.
