- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned)
- 1 orange (juiced and zested)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine cranberries, pineapple chunks, orange juice, orange zest, sugar, and water.
- Turn the heat to medium and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to low and let it simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens.
- If desired, sprinkle in some cinnamon to enhance the flavor and stir to combine.
- Remove from heat and let the sauce cool before serving it alongside favorite holiday dishes.
Notes
This sauce can be made in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. It can also be frozen.
