These Crispy Homemade Potato Cheese Sticks are a quick and delicious snack, perfect for any occasion with their golden-brown exterior and gooey cheese inside.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into sticks.
  2. Boil the potato sticks in salted water until tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain and let cool.
  3. In one bowl, place flour. In another bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, mix breadcrumbs with salt and pepper.
  4. Dip each potato stick in flour, then in egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  6. Fry the potato cheese sticks until golden brown on all sides, about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For a healthier twist, consider baking instead of frying. Serve with spicy ketchup or ranch dressing.
