- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup cream cheese
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine water and butter; bring to a boil.
- Add flour and mix until a ball forms.
- Remove from heat, beat in eggs one at a time until smooth.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or pot.
- Pipe churro batter into hot oil and fry until golden brown.
- Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Roll fried churros in cinnamon sugar.
- In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pipe cheesecake filling into each churro.
- Serve warm.
Notes
Use a large piping bag with a star tip for classic churro ridges and fry in small batches for even cooking.
