A fast festive dessert featuring brownie layers, cream cheese, and crushed cookie toppings for a holiday treat that looks impressive without a lot of effort.

  • Total Time: 270 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box brownie mix (plus eggs, oil, and water as directed)
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz whipped topping (thawed)
  • 18 golden sandwich cookies, finely crushed
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 oz whipped topping (for top layer)
  • 1 cup Christmas red and green M&M’s
  • 2 tablespoons red and white sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the brownie mix box.
  2. Prepare the brownie batter as directed on the box.
  3. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan and pour in the batter.
  4. Bake the brownies until done, usually about 20 to 25 minutes.
  5. Remove the pan from the oven and let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
  6. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
  7. Beat on medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  8. Gently fold in 8 ounces of whipped topping until evenly combined.
  9. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled brownie base.
  10. Chill the pan in the refrigerator for 15 to 30 minutes to help the layer set.
  11. In a separate bowl, mix the crushed golden sandwich cookies with 2 tablespoons of melted butter.
  12. Sprinkle the cookie crumble evenly over the chilled cream cheese layer and press lightly to adhere.
  13. Spread the remaining 8 ounces of whipped topping over the cookie layer to form the top.
  14. Decorate with red and green M&M’s in a festive pattern and add sprinkles if desired.
  15. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to let the layers meld and firm up.

Notes

Use high-quality boxed mix for a richer flavor. For easier slicing, run a knife under hot water before each cut. Avoid freezing as the whipped topping texture can change when thawed.
