A quick and easy baked chicken Parmesan with a golden crust and melty cheese, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat each chicken breast with olive oil, then dip into the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
  4. Place the chicken on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  6. Remove from the oven, top each piece with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  7. Return to the oven for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

Flatten thicker breasts slightly for even cooking. Use pregrated cheese and store-bought breadcrumbs for quick prep. For meal prep, bake and cool pieces, then pack individual portions with sauce on the side.
