- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Coat each chicken breast with olive oil, then dip into the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
- Place the chicken on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven, top each piece with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
- Return to the oven for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
Flatten thicker breasts slightly for even cooking. Use pregrated cheese and store-bought breadcrumbs for quick prep. For meal prep, bake and cool pieces, then pack individual portions with sauce on the side.
