- 1 cup milk or plant milk
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
- Juice of 1/4 lemon (optional)
- Pinch of black pepper
- Optional tea bag (black or green)
- Optional splash of vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine water and milk in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Add grated ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, and black pepper.
- Heat until steaming but not boiling, about 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- If using a tea bag, steep it in the hot mix for 2 to 3 minutes then remove.
- Whisk in honey or maple syrup and optional vanilla, then stir in lemon if using.
- Pour into a mug and enjoy immediately or transfer to a thermos for later.
Notes
Store leftover cooled drink in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat gently on the stove or microwave.
